大宝八幡宮の敷地内に菊が沢山さいていました。
一言に菊といってもいろいろあるようですけど、
個人的には（あまり菊っぽくないけれど）秋明菊が好きです。
でも大宝八幡にはなかったみたいで残念。

ちなみに、sit on a fence は「どっちつかず」とか「二股をかける」という慣用句、
この歌、好きなんですよね～。
女嫌いの男からみると、他にすることがないからといって、
まるで自分の人生を抵当にいれるような結婚をして家庭を持つなんていうのは
理解に苦しむということなのでしょうね。
僕は必ずしも女嫌いではないんですけど、
この歌詞には共感する点が多々あるな～。
